Website prices are hard to compare because nobody sells the same bundle. One plan covers the website but not booking. Another has booking but no way to sign a waiver. A cheap first year turns into a bigger renewal.
This guide adds up what a horse business needs, piece by piece, from each company’s own pricing page. Every price was checked October 22, 2026, in US dollars before tax. Prices change, so check each page before you buy.

What are you paying for with a horse business website?
Short answer
Six things: the website and its hosting, a domain name, online booking, waivers and agreements clients sign online, payment processing, and help building the site if you don’t do it yourself. A few companies put most of that in one plan. Most sell it as separate subscriptions.
- Website and hosting. The builder plan that keeps your site online, billed monthly or yearly.
- A domain. Your own name, like yourbarn.com. The renewal price matters more than the first year.
- Online booking. Some builders include it. Others need a separate scheduling tool.
- Waivers and agreements. Releases, boarding or training agreements and intake forms that clients sign on their phone. Usually a separate tool.
- Payments. A card fee on every payment, and on some apps, a cut of their own on top.
- Help building it. Free if you do it yourself. A one-time fee if you hire it out.
Customer and horse records are worth a look too. When booking and waivers live in separate tools, each keeps its own client list, and the same owner and horse end up in two or three places.
How much does a website builder cost?
Short answer
Billed monthly, Squarespace Basic is $25 a month and GoDaddy’s Professional plan is $49.99. Paid a year up front, Squarespace Basic is $19 a month and Wix Core is $29. Booking is included on Wix Core and GoDaddy Professional, and a separate subscription on Squarespace.
- Wix Core: $29 a month, paid as $348 for the year. It includes booking, payments and a signature field on forms. Wix’s plans page shows yearly prices only.12
- Squarespace Basic: $25 a month billed monthly, or $19 a month billed yearly. Booking is a separate Acuity Scheduling subscription.34
- GoDaddy Professional: $49.99 a month billed monthly, or $24.99 a month for the first year paid up front ($299.88). It lists appointment bookings and online payments. E-signatures aren’t listed.5
Look past the cheapest plan to the first one that lists what you need. For most horse businesses, that means taking bookings and payments, not just showing a website.
Is it cheaper to pay monthly or a year up front?
Short answer
Per month, paying a year up front is usually cheaper, but you pay it all at once and you’re in for the year. Watch for first-year prices that go up at renewal. Monthly costs more per month and lets you try a tool on your own business first.
Most tools take a few dollars off for paying the year at once. Squarespace Basic goes from $25 to $19 a month3, Calendly Standard from $12 to $10 a seat6, and Smartwaiver Basic from $22 a month to $210 a year7.
Two things to check. Some yearly prices are first-year deals: GoDaddy says its introductory pricing is good for the first term only, and it doesn’t show the renewal price8. And some companies show only one price: Wix lists Core at $29 a month billed yearly and doesn’t show a month-to-month price1.
Western Web Co. is billed monthly only, with no contract9. There’s no first-year deal to run out.
What do online booking and waivers add to the bill?
Short answer
A booking tool on its own runs $12 to $20 a month billed monthly, and a waiver tool like Smartwaiver Basic is $22 a month. With Squarespace Basic, the website, booking and waivers came to $59 to $67 a month. With GoDaddy Professional, which includes booking, adding a waiver tool made it $71.99.
Booking. Calendly Standard is $12 a seat a month billed monthly, the first Calendly plan that takes payments6. Acuity Scheduling, the booking tool Squarespace uses, is $20 a month on its Starter plan, as its own subscription104.
Waivers. Smartwaiver Basic is $22 a month, or $210 a year, for up to 100 signed waivers a month7. Acuity’s intake forms can’t capture e-signatures11, and GoDaddy’s Professional plan doesn’t list them5. Wix Core has a signature field on its forms2, but the downloaded PDF shows “Signed” without the signature itself12.
Billed monthly, the pieces came to:
- Squarespace Basic + Calendly Standard + Smartwaiver Basic: $59 a month367
- Squarespace Basic + Acuity Starter + Smartwaiver Basic: $67 a month3107
- GoDaddy Professional + Smartwaiver Basic: $71.99 a month57
None of these plans lists horse records, so your clients and their horses live in each tool’s own list.
What does the whole setup cost for the first year?
Short answer
With a waiver tool and a .com, the first year came to $509.88 at GoDaddy, $558 at Wix and $630 at Squarespace paid up front. Billed monthly, it was $814 at Squarespace and $863.89 at GoDaddy. Western Web Co. came to $490.76, billed monthly, with the .com.
| Setup | Paid a year up front | Billed monthly |
|---|---|---|
| Western Web Co.: website, booking, waivers, payments and records913 | Monthly only | $490.76 |
| Wix Core + Smartwaiver Basic17 | $558.00 | Not published |
| Squarespace Basic + Acuity Starter + Smartwaiver Basic310714 | $630.00 | $814.00 |
| GoDaddy Professional + Smartwaiver Basic5715 | $509.88 (first-year price) | $863.89 |
Each total includes a .com for the first year. The yearly plans at Wix, Squarespace and GoDaddy come with a free domain for that year135. Billed monthly, Squarespace’s .com is $10 and GoDaddy’s is $0.01 with a required 3-year purchase1415. Help building the site isn’t counted.
Year two can cost more. GoDaddy’s yearly price is an introductory rate8, and Wix and Squarespace don’t publish what a .com renews at1614.
How much does a domain name cost?
Short answer
The first year is often free or close to it. The renewal is what you keep paying: $18.48 a year at Namecheap and $22.99 at GoDaddy when we checked. On WWC, a .com is $10.88 a year, the registrar’s price with no markup, the first year and every year after.
- Western Web Co.: $10.88 the first year and $10.88 to renew. We charge Dynadot’s price with no markup1317.
- Namecheap: $18.48 a year to renew18.
- GoDaddy: $0.01 the first year with a required 3-year purchase, then $22.99 a year15.
- Wix: free the first year with a yearly plan1. Wix doesn’t publish the renewal price; it shows in your account16.
- Squarespace: free the first year on a yearly plan, or $10 the first year, shown down from $20. No renewal price is stated314.
Against Namecheap and GoDaddy renewals, a .com on WWC costs $7.60 to $12.11 less each year. Registry prices may change around November 1, 2026, so check the price at checkout18.
You don’t have to buy one to start. Every WWC website gets a free address, and connecting a domain you already own is free17. See domain prices.
How much does it cost to have your website built for you?
Short answer
Hiring it out is a one-time cost on top of the plan. GoDaddy’s design service starts at $499.99 plus a yearly hosting fee it doesn’t list, and independent Wix designers list starting prices of $100 to $1,800. On WWC, our team builds your website with you for free.
GoDaddy Website Design Services start at $499.99 for the build, plus an annual hosting fee whose amount isn’t shown8. The sites are built on WordPress and typically take 6 to 8 weeks19.
Wix Marketplace designers set their own “starting at” prices: $100 to $1,800 on the first page of results. Those are starting prices, not quotes for a full site20. Squarespace’s experts don’t publish prices; you get matched or ask for quotes21.
Before you hire anyone, ask who makes changes after launch, and what that costs. Rates, openings and lesson times change all year.
On WWC, start your free trial and our team builds the site with you. You stay on your free trial until it launches, so you’re never charged before you’ve seen it22. After that, you change any word, photo or color yourself by clicking it.

Does anyone take a cut of your payments?
Short answer
Every way of taking cards online has a processing fee, a percentage plus a few cents per payment. Some apps, including some that are free to use, add a cut of their own on top. Western Web Co. adds no transaction fee; you pay your payment provider’s standard rate and nothing more.
The processing fee goes to the company that moves the money. Wix Payments lists 2.9% + 30¢ on US cards23, and GoDaddy Payments lists 2.7% + 30¢ for online appointments24. You’ll pay a fee like that anywhere you take cards.
A platform cut is different. It’s a percentage the software company keeps on top of the processing fee. Squarespace’s Basic plan, for example, lists a 2% transaction fee on online store sales3. Some apps that call themselves free make their money this way. Before you sign up for one, ask for its payment rate in writing.
Small percentages add up. Every 1% taken from $15,000 a month in board and lessons is $150 a month, or $1,800 a year. That’s plain math, not any company’s rate.
Western Web Co. never takes a cut. Your payment provider’s standard rate applies, and that’s all9.
What does Western Web Co. cost?
Short answer
$39.99/month. One price for everyone. It covers your website and hosting, online booking, waivers and documents with e-signatures, online payments, customer and horse records, and a free directory listing, and we’ll build your website for free.
- Your website and hosting, with security and SSL
- Online booking, with your own booking page
- Waivers and documents that clients sign online
- Online payments, with no WWC transaction fee
- Customer and horse records, with files like a Coggins copy
- A free directory listing
- Real support from real people
It’s billed monthly, with no contract. The 7-day free trial needs a credit card, and you won’t be charged until it ends9. If our team builds your website, you stay on your free trial until it launches, and your $39.99/month plan starts 7 days after launch22.
A year of WWC is $479.88, or $490.76 with a .com at $10.88913. See pricing for the details.
When does another option cost less?
Short answer
If you’ll pay a year up front and a form signature field is enough for your waivers, Wix Core is $348 a year with booking and payments, less than a year of WWC at $479.88. If you only need a website for now, Squarespace Basic is $19 a month paid yearly. Wix and GoDaddy also have free plans for trying ideas.
Wix Core is $29 a month, paid as $348 up front, and includes booking, payments and a signature field on forms12. That’s $131.88 less than twelve months of WWC9. What it doesn’t list: horse records, a month-to-month price, or someone to build it for free.
Squarespace Basic is $19 a month paid yearly, or $25 billed monthly, if a website is all you need right now3. Wix and GoDaddy both have free plans that don’t ask for a card15. Check what a free plan includes before you count on it.
The math changes once you add booking, waivers and someone to build it. Those are the totals to compare.
More questions
Can I get a horse business website for free?
You can start on a free plan at Wix or GoDaddy without a card. With Western Web Co., the build is free: our team builds your website with you during your free trial, and your $39.99/month plan starts 7 days after launch. A credit card is required to start the trial.
Do I need to buy a domain?
Not on WWC. Every website gets a free address, and you can add your own domain anytime. A .com is $10.88 a year at cost, and connecting a domain you already own is free.
What about barn management apps?
They go deeper on barn chores like feed, medications, staff and board billing, and none we checked lists a full public website on its plan. WWC covers the client side: your website, booking, waivers, payments, and customer and horse records. It doesn’t track feed, medications or board billing. You can use both.
Will these prices change?
They can. We read every price from the company’s own page on October 22, 2026, in US dollars before tax. Registry prices for domains may change around November 1, 2026. Check each page before you buy.
Is there a contract with Western Web Co.?
No. It’s billed monthly with no contract. If our team builds your website and we don’t impress you, you pay nothing.
Written by the Western Web Co. team. We’re family owned and build WWC in Cave Creek, Arizona.
